Rice hulls are not an ingredient but an aid in mashing. They don't contribute any flavour, colour or body to your beer. Sticky grains such as wheat can form an impenetrable grain bed which water cannot pass true. Adding up to 5% of rice hulls will loosen the grain and allowing your sparge water to easily flow through.
